Eligibility
To be considered for publication in Sofia,
submitted course materials must meet the following eligibility
criteria.
Eligibility Criteria:
Course materials that meet the following requirements are eligible:
-
The course
materials must be online and accessible to peer reviewers. If the materials are behind a password-protected
site, a
username and password must be supplied with submission. If
discussion boards with pre-determined topics play a significant role in
interaction between learners, faculty, and content, access to those
discussion threads must be provided.
-
The course materials
submitted must have been used effectively to deliver, support, or
supplement instruction for at least one term.
-
Course materials must be submitted by the actual author(s) of
the content.
-
Authors must guarantee ownership and originality of the course
materials submitted, and, if they are finalists, they will sign a letter of
assurance.
-
A textbook may be recommended as a companion to the
materials, but it must not be required for learners to progress
through the content. (Page numbers and references to the textbook will be removed). Content that changes annually, such as tax accounting and
software applications whose versions change constantly, may not be ideal for this effort but
will be considered.
-
Third-party materials must be cleared for open publication with
copyright owners, or they will be removed prior to publication in the Sofia
Project.
-
Authors must be willing to adopt a
Creative Commons License.
-
The author(s)
must demonstrate a sincere effort to meet Section 508 requirements for accessibility. (See
the
WebAIM Section 508 Checklist)
