Lesson 2 The Flash Interface - Overview
Description
By now, you must have gotten some basic information about Flash and seen some of the features used in website design. Flash is not just an animation program. Flash can be used for interface design, animation, interactive forms, games, database integration.
In this Macromedia Flash MX course, we are going to concentrate on basic animation with a bit of interface design and some fundamental interactivity. Before we create anything in Flash, we will familiarize ourselves with the Flash tools and interface. We need to know what's in our toolbox and how to use the tools.
In this lesson, you'll learn how to use the interface tools and you'll create your first Flash drawing.
Objectives
By the end of this Lesson, you will successfully:
- create a drawing with the Flash image creation and editing tools.
- analyze the appropriate use of Flash with peers.
- write a critique of interface design, navigation, bandwidth, and usability of a Flash website.
Make the Connection
When you think about image creation and drawing, what kinds of imagery do you think about? Vector? Bitmap? Well, Flash now does all these things. Throughout this course, you will learn the basics of creating and importing images in Flash and the pros and cons of each.
Throughout the course, you can use the Discussion area to comment on Flash sites that implement these features and discuss if the implementation is appropriate to the site's purpose and target audience. You may also discuss how sites meet accessibility and download requirements.
